Dji UAV several homing mode explanation

For novice players, the intelligent return of the drone may be a lifesaver, and there is a very low probability of finding the machine when used in the case of map loss and attitude loss.
When the user opens the one-button return, the low power of the drone triggers the low power return, or the communication signal between the remote control and the drone is lost to trigger the runaway return, the drone will automatically return to the return point and land, so we need to set the return height reasonably. When the key is pressed to return, no matter what route the drone has passed before, it will turn its nose towards the return point, and then climb or drop to the return height set by us at that time, and automatically fly straight back to the return point position, and then drop to the ground.
The navigation height can generally be set to about 20-30 meters of the highest obstacle in the whole road from the start to the end. Under normal circumstances, it is recommended that the novice Xiaobai do not exceed the range of visual range, and control the flight height below 120 meters.

Under normal circumstances, after we choose a safe takeoff point, we generally rarely move the position, and in most cases, the “return point” that is automatically refreshed when the drone takes off can be used. If during the flight, we leave the original “return point” location, you can reset the “return point” setting and refresh the return point.
The specific operation process is that during the flight of the UAV, hover the UAV and start to set the return point as the current position (vertical position), which is updated into the current position as the “return point” of the UAV. At the same time, you can also set the location of the remote control as the “return point” position. All Settings must pay attention to the prompt, whether the setting is successful.
These operations must be careful, must be based on the premise of safety, to ensure that the current location of the drone can safely land before setting and refreshing the return point, if the drone in the obstacle, snow or water above, must not reset the “return point”.
Remember, one-click return uses a straight line return mechanism, so when using the automatic return operation, first confirm that there is no obstacle between the aircraft and the return point.

The following describes the three automatic return of DJI drones, “intelligent return”, “intelligent low-power return” and “out-of-control return”.
1. “Smart Return”
“Intelligent Return” is actively triggered by us, or you can long press the intelligent return button of the remote control or click the return icon in the camera interface of the DJI App to start.
After starting, the UAV will adjust the nose direction and start to return. During the return course, short press the intelligent return button of the remote control or click the stop icon in the camera interface of DJI App to exit the return course. After exiting the intelligent return flight, you can regain control of the drone.
2. “Smart Low power Return”
When the intelligent flight battery is too low and there is not enough power to return, the drone should be landed as soon as possible, otherwise the drone will fall directly when the power runs out, resulting in damage to the drone or other dangers. In order to prevent unnecessary dangers due to insufficient battery power, DJI drones will intelligently determine whether the current power is sufficient according to the location information of the flight.
If the current power supply is only enough to complete the return course, the App will prompt you whether you need to perform the return course. During the course of return, you can press the intelligent return button of the remote control to cancel the return process. If the current battery is only enough to land, the drone will be forced to drop and cannot be cancelled. The drone can be controlled by remote control (when the wireless signal is normal) during the descent.
3. “Runaway return”
The UAV can map the flight environment in real time during the flight and record the flight trajectory. When the GPS signal is good, the compass works normally and the drone successfully records the return point, when the wireless signal is interrupted for 2 seconds or more, the flight control system will take over the control of the drone and plan the route with reference to the original flight path to control the drone to fly back to the recently recorded return point.
If the wireless signal returns to normal within 60 seconds, the drone will hover in place for 10 seconds. We can also short press the intelligent return button of the remote control or click the stop icon in the camera interface of the drone App to cancel the return. If not cancelled, the UAV will return to the shortest distance route; If the wireless signal is not restored within 60 seconds of the start of the homecoming, the drone will return straight to the shortest distance route. When the distance between the UAV and the return point is greater than 2km or less than 50m, it will not refer to the original flight path to return. Restricted and no-fly zones will affect the return of the original flight path.
If the UAV detects an obstacle in the course of returning from the original flight path, it will exit from the original flight path and return in a straight line.

Uav automatic homing precautions
1. When the GPS signal of the UAV is not good, or when the GPS signal does not work, automatic homing cannot be used.
2. When the UAV rises to more than 20 meters, but has not reached the scheduled return height, when the throttle rod is pushed, the UAV will stop rising and return from the current height.
3. Although the UAV has the obstacle avoidance function, it still has the danger of blowing up when it encounters dark light and reflective glass.
4. When the compass interference of the UAV is too strong during the course of returning, the UAV will also enter the attitude mode, and the UAV will not be able to achieve automatic return.
5. Forced descent of the drone, if the drone inspects the water below, or other dangerous places, the drone will slowly drop, so that the drone can still hover in the air. The operator should then steer the drone to a safe place.
